Another Perfect Race for Notre Dame

The racing went so well at the April Fools Regatta....we decided to have another race right after it. The "Low Power" regatta name comes from the fact that we used the same batteries that were run in in the April Fools race. If nobody changes batteries...it's the same for everybody. "Lets Run TWO!"

Another thing that was done at this "experimental" race was a flying start. Man...was this cool! Also without the shoe starting procedure we were able to have 5 boats per heat and a 6 boat final. How cool! Boats had to be in the water and running no later than the 30 second mark before the start. We had some great starts and we had some gun jumpers. But all agreed, that it was the way we were going to run in the future. Can't wait to the next regatta!

There were a lot of of new things that we tried. However, the results were the same for Mark Weber and his Karleson Notre Dame. Another perfect 1200 point day. With this race, Mark is almost 1000 point ahead of the second place boat in High points. Oh yeah...that boat is the Miss US and that boat is Mark's too. Man the Weber fleet is running good this year.

Jeff Dunn's Such Crust IV and Miss Lapeer ran second and third to the Notre Dame. The Dunn Navy was down to just 3 boats for this regatta. That's down from ....what.......10 or 12 boats! I'm sure the Navy will up and running with all hands on board soon.

The Kosciuszko fleet was down one boat (Maverick) too. Seems the fastest boat in the Kosciuszko fleet lately has been the Thriftway Too. Seems the the Harper Woods team is having some prop problems. Kosciuszko has a call into Mercury Props and is looking to get a batch of "Lab Grind" wheels soon. Hank thinks props could run as much as $25.00 a piece!! Boat racing.......it's always about the prop, isn't it?

Moving on to the next race. It will be "under the lights" on Saturday night at Mark Webers House (April 7,2007) As with most of our regattas, we will name it when we get there. (We sure put a lot of planning into these races don't we) See ya on the course gang!
