It's Miller Time!

It was a day for dreams, and as the man named Miller stood near his fleet.  Would this be his day?  Would his dreams be fulfilled?  Or would they be shattered?  And, would Mark Weber be serving hot dogs again? 

Well, for the man they call "Miller", it was his time.  It was Miller Time as Mark and his "Miss Burien" won the final heat and, ultimately, edged out Hank Kosciuszko's "Miss U.S. 5" to become the 2009 Casper-Prop Detroit Highpoint Champion!

The chase for the championship (or , "The Chase" - as we like to call it...) was tight coming in to the day and REALLY TIGHT going into the Final Heat with only a few points separating the Miss Burien from the Miss U.S. 5.  And this is WITHOUT any bribes to the official scorer. 

The competition was so intense that items were thrown around the race track... TWICE!  The testosterone levels were so high, you could cut the air with a knife!  A turn judge was fired, then re-hired, then fired again.  And then we all laughed!

Yes.  Men CAN get competitive with a $20 plastic race boat kit.  And a few beers doesn't hurt, either.

The winner of the final heat would win the race and the most coveted award in motor sports for vacuum formed plastic race boats.  The Casper prop Detroit Series Highpoint Championship.  

As some competitors battled the turn judges, the Burien and U.S. 5 battled each other for five, long laps. And in the end, it was Mark Miller's day.  For the other competitors, the message was clear.  DREAM ON!
