Miss Detroit Puts Hank Back in the Winner's Circle

You have to go all the way back to January 18, 2009. That's the last time Hank Kosciuszko won a Casper race! Hard to believe because Hank has some of the best boats in the fleet. But the Miss Detroit would not be denied as it had a perfect 1200 point race with three heat victories.

This was the debut race at Mark Weber's home deep in a Michigan forest!  What a beautiful setting...a great way to spend a Fall saturday.

Mark also debuted his beautiful new checkerboard Bardahl, which one its first heat of competition and also made the Final.

The flying Gale V set a new qualifying record and was completely out of control the entire day until the batteries wore down.

This race was named the "Jim Garza Memorial" after longtime Gold Cup volunteer Jim Garza, who passed away at 74 years old earlier in the week.  Jim had attended our last two Casper races.
